For A Better World
The International Baccalaureate develops young people with an aim toward creating a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. These programs encourage students across the world to become active lifelong learners who understand that other people, along with their differences, have equal value.
The International Baccalaureate experience is different from other curricula because it:
encourages students of all ages to think critically and challenge assumptions
encourages students of all ages to consider both local and global contexts
develops multilingual students
The International Baccalaureate aspires to help schools develop well-rounded students with character who respond to challenges with optimism and an open mind, are confident in their own identities, make ethical decisions, join with others in celebrating our common humanity and are prepared to apply what they learn in real-world, complex and unpredictable situations. Students who access the IB will:
be encouraged to think independently and drive their own learning
take part in programmes of education that can lead them to some of the highest ranking universities around the world
become more culturally aware, through the development of a second language
be able to engage with people in an increasingly globalized, rapidly changing world
ask challenging questions
think critically
develop research skills proven to help them in higher education
