Transportation Fees Overview

Families using Academy District 20 bus service are responsible for paying a transportation fee. If approved for busing, the fee will be automatically charged to your student’s account and is due even if the student does not ride.

  • First semester fees are posted in August (or 1-3 weeks after approval)
  • Second semester fees are posted in January (or 1-3 weeks after approval)

Bus requests are valid only for the current school year.

Semester Bus Fees

  • In-district neighborhood students: $63 per student, per semester
  • In-district School Choice students: $73 per student, per semester
  • Out-of-district School Choice students: $83 per student, per semester for an existing in-district stop

Semester Bus Fee Maximums

If you have one or more students using bus service, the following maximum costs apply per family, per semester:

  • In-district neighborhood students: $252
  • In-district School Choice students: $292
  • Out-of-district School Choice students: $332
  • Any combination of the above categories: Not to exceed $332

My Ride Card Fees

Students using transportation receive a “My Ride” card free of charge, which is required to scan when boarding and exiting the bus. Cards are valid for the duration of the student's enrollment in the district.

  • The first replacement card is free
  • The second replacement card costs $5
  • The third and subsequent replacement cards cost $10 each

Individual Rides

Parents can request free bus passes for occasional rides. Students may ride with a sibling, friend, or neighbor up to three times per semester by contacting their student’s school.

Paying Fees

All transportation fees must be paid by the assigned due date. Students with unpaid transportation fees from the previous school year will not be approved for current year transportation until those fees are paid.

Paying Online

Fees can be paid online using Campus Payments, part of Infinite Campus. Log in and go to the fees tab to view transportation fees.

An account was created for the parent or guardian who registered your student(s), and login information was emailed to that person. To add another parent or for account assistance, contact the Help Desk.

Paying In Person

Fees may be paid by check, cash, or credit card at the following locations:

  • Your student's school
  • Business Services at the Education and Administration Center - Business Services Department

Students Exempt from Bus Fees

The following students are exempt from paying bus fees:

  • Students with special needs who have transportation designated in their Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • Students with English as a Second Language (ESL) who attend their designated school and live outside the walk zone
  • Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch and have completed the free and reduced meal application
