Website Accessibility Compliance Standards
We adhere to the applicable and existing standards for website accessibility, including the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C’s) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and the Web Accessibility Initiative Accessible Rich Internet Applications Suite (WAI-ARIA) 1.2 for web content, or other standard or combination of standards that will render the Online Content accessible. In the event that the standards, laws and/or regulations change, we will ensure our policies and procedures are updated to meet these changes.
Accessibility Audit
Academy District 20 regularly audits our web sites with third party tools to assess our compliance with the standards listed above. All problems identified through this process are evaluated and, if necessary, remediated within a reasonable period of time.
We make no assurances regarding the accessibility of any content or open-source software that is posted, hosted or offered on our websites by an individual or entity outside of our control. All reasonable steps are taken to prevent unauthorized individuals or entities from posting inaccessible content on our website. We will promptly remove any inaccessible content once we become aware of such content.
Accessibility of Third-Party Sites
Some of the pages on our website contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content or accessibility of third-party sites, which do not relate to our programs, services, and activities.
Content developed by, maintained by or offered through a third-party vendor or by using open sources, which is related to our programs, services, and activities, will be made accessible in regards to Section 504 and Title II legal obligations, except where doing so would impose a fundamental alteration or undue financial and administrative burden.
Academy District 20 will take the following steps to ensure accessibility of Online Content provided by third-parties which relate to our programs, services and activities:
Use an accessibility validation tool to review the accessibility of the third-party website
Inform third-party developers of our policy regarding web accessibility and provide a copy of the policy
Provide links as requested to third-party developers with information and resources on implementing website accessibility
Provide an alternate method to obtain the information provided on third-party websites as it pertains to our programs, services and activities
Notify Us of an Accessibility Issue
If you are unable to access Academy District 20’s web content, have questions about the accessibility of our content, and/or would like to report barriers to accessing this content regarding our programs, services, and activities, please contact us using the “Notify Us of an Issue” button on this page, or by using our Help Desk service. When you contact us, please provide the specific website address (URL) of the material you tried to access, the problem you encountered, and your contact information.
