Those who indicate the use of a language other than English are contacted to participate in an interview to determine language needs and tested for English language proficiency using the state required W-APT or WIDA Screener when appropriate. ","\u003Cp>Families are encouraged to bring grades, assessments, and any other documents to the testing appointment that show language proficiency for their child.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>After the testing is complete, the results are reviewed with the family and school placement is determined.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>If a student qualifies for support, the parent has the option of selecting an ESL magnet school or a mainstream placement.
