These assessments are also used for school and district accountability.","\u003Ch2>Assessment Overview\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>Throughout the year, the district is required by the State of Colorado to administer statewide assessments to students in third through eleventh grade in reading, writing, mathematics and science. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>All students are encouraged to participate in the assessments, however students may be excused. Students excused from state assessments do not receive negative consequences. Families may choose to keep their student(s) home or students will be supervised in a place where they may read or work quietly on other assignments.
